Settlers Inn Hotel – Spring Carnival Punters Challenge

Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility

  • Participants must be 18 years or older.

  • Teams must consist of three (3) or more members.

  • Goal of 20 teams to be accepted for the challenge.

  • All entry fees must be paid in full prior to Week 1.

  • Staff members are permitted to enter but are ineligible to win the main prize pool.

2. Entry & Prize Pool

  • Entry Fee: $60 per person for the full six-week competition.

  • Entry fees are non-refundable once the competition commences.

  • Guaranteed Prize Pool: $2,000 cash to the winning team.

  • A team photo must be provided upon sign-up for identification and promotional purposes.

3. How the Challenge Works

  • Runs for six consecutive Saturdays: 4th October – 8th November 2025.

  • Each team receives $100 “virtual betting credit” per week (not real cash) to place up to three bets on the nominated Group 1 races/events.

  • The $100 can be used on one, two, or three bets.

  • All bets must be submitted by the team captain by 11:00 AM Saturday via:

    • In person at the venue

    • Phone call, SMS, or WhatsApp message (to the official competition contact)

  • Winnings are calculated on final TAB Corp tote prices and tallied weekly.

4. Scoring & Leaderboard

  • Total winnings over all six weeks determine the final ranking.

  • A physical leaderboard will be displayed in the venue and updated weekly.

  • Staff participants’ bets must be submitted by Friday 5:00 PM for transparency and will not be included in prize rankings.

  • In the event of a tie, the team with the highest Week 6 winnings will be declared the winner.

5. Communication

  • Each team must nominate a team captain for communication and bet submission.

  • A dedicated WhatsApp group will be created for captains to share updates, reminders, and announcements.

6. Member Benefits

Upon registration, each participant will receive:

  • Embroidered TAB Hat featuring your team name.

  • Challenge Membership Card with your photo and $20 venue credit (valid Saturdays, 12 PM – 5 PM).

    • Cards are non-transferable and must be presented to redeem.

    • Credit may be used on food and beverage.

7. On-the-Day Experience

  • Hero Time: Main betting action runs 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

  • Food & Drinks: Chicken wings, spice bags, shared burgers, and snacks at 3:30 PM, plus feature cocktails and champagne throughout the day.

  • Round Robin Knockout mini-game: The last player standing wins a $1000 bar tab.

8. Conduct & Fair Play

  • All bets must follow the competition rules.

  • Any form of cheating, collusion, or manipulation will result in immediate disqualification.

  • Venue management reserves the right to make final decisions on disputes or rule clarifications.

9. Disclaimers

  • Virtual betting credit is for competition purposes only and cannot be exchanged for cash or real betting credit.

  • Settlers Inn Hotel reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the competition at any time.

  • By entering, participants agree to have their names and photos used for promotional purposes.
