Settlers Inn has been part of the Port Macquarie community for more than 45 years.

Built in the late 1970s, the hotel was originally surrounded by open paddocks long before the nearby canals and housing estates existed. The pub has changed hands a few times over the years, but it has always remained an important meeting place for locals.

The most significant chapter in the venue's history began in 2015 when Alistair and Renee Flower moved into the house beneath the accommodation rooms with their two young children. At the time, Settlers Inn had seen better days. It was a tired old pub in need of investment, care and a fresh direction.

The family quite literally lived on site while they worked to transform the venue. There were even chickens roaming around the backyard, which is how the rooster that features in our logo found its place in the Settlers story.

From the beginning, the vision was simple: create a safe, welcoming pub that the whole community could enjoy. A place where families felt comfortable bringing their children, where sporting clubs could gather after a game, where friends could catch up over a meal, and where everyone felt welcome.
