FIFA: Australia v Paraguay

The Socceroos hold a historically superior head-to-head record against Los Guaraníes, remaining completely undefeated across their previous matchups. Despite this, early indications show Paraguay as having a higher chance of winning this game.

This is the final group D fixture for both nations and because co-hosts USA are heavily tipped to win the group, this match will likely act as a direct knockout decider to secure second place and progress to the World Cup Round of 32.

Under coach Tony Popovic, Australia has built a reputation as a highly compact, structurally rigid unit that is tough to break down. Conversely, Paraguay relies on a highly technical, fast-paced South American attacking style, making this a classic "defence vs. attack" tactical battle.

We reckon the best plan is to take a Friday early mark and watch it on the big screen here at Setts!
